Past
They arrived as a single group. StarClan had brought them to this strange new land. There were seven of them. All smuggled onto a strange two-leg invention, guided by StarClan. It floated on water. After the cats had their fill of seasickness, doors opened and the group silently padded out and onto the new land that StarClan promised to be untouched, and not destroyed by two-legs.
What they saw was incredible. But it wasn't incredible in any way that they had imagined. What was left of their clan had followed StarClan and ended up on a deserted sea of snow. They turned to sea the two-leg thing floating off into the distance. Boxes were left by the two-legs and the cats heard monsters in the distance coming toward them.
They ran into the snow. It was the only way to escape. They kept running. The monsters sounded like they were right behind them. After running as far as they could, the collapsed.
When they finally awoke, they had no sense of direction. Everything around them was white.
They stuck together, found out about the snow rabbits learned about the snow leopards the hard way.
Eventually the clan was so big that conflicts came about and without a leader or any faith in StarClan, the clan separated into three smaller clans. They fought over lands with the largest snow rabbits and had many quarrels over cats entering another clans' territory. The boundaries were never too clear because the constant snow fall smothered scents that were only a few hours old.
They stayed that way. Three separate clans who met at the large block of ice in between their camps.
Present
Three small clans of cats live in the frigid arctic tundra located in southern Greenland. Fighting against the weather, themselves, and for food all in such harsh conditions is almost always rough. The only refuge they have is the short season of light that is hardly anything compared to the length of the season of ice.
The Ancient Lights are where the cat's ancestors dwell. They guide the living cats, grant their leaders nine lives and speak to the clans' Sage. The Ancient Lights speak of a small group of cats living much further south than the three clans. They say that with the cats, they will find a much greater refuge than the light season. There, it is light season almost all of the time.
Though the clans understand this, they are too doubtful of survival on the long journey, if they decided to go.
Choosing to stay, the same cats who were doubtful about the journey begin to doubt staying where they are. The snow rabbits are beginning to decrease in population with the increase of hunting patrols. Snow is falling each day and gathers on the cats' long fur, even while running. Kits are beginning to die from sickness and small colds.
Things are shaking the clans' worlds and they have no idea what to do when they are sure that abandoning everything they have and going on a long journey to potential safety would only kill them all.
All the while, the Ancient Lights silently will them south, since so much faith has been lost between the cats and the Ancient Lights...
